A heavy deployment of Rapid Action Force (RAF) was witnessed in the Heervindranagar area under Maheshtala's police jurisdiction from Thursday morning, sparking panic among residents. Additional police personnel have also been stationed across key roads and market areas, where authorities are strictly advising people to remain indoors and avoid any kind of gathering.
Local shops remained shut, roads appeared deserted, and daily life came to a sudden standstill as fear gripped the community. Residents say they’ve never witnessed such intense security presence before, and many are refraining from stepping out even for essentials.
